Raise your hand, raise your hand … if you’re SURE
April 9, 2003
There was an overwhelming response to last week’s Beat the Caption in the Breakdown. So, we decided to print the better ones (those that were clean enough). We have designated the best, runner-up and second runner-up. Other than that, the captions are in no particular order.
1st place:
“Whew … It’s a good thing you can’t see what the other hand is doing.”
– Mash Angolkar, senior electrical engineering technology
Runner-up:
“Oh, oh, teacher, I know the answer. We are at war because my Daddy started something that I want to finish!”
– Phil Morris, freshman computer science and Spanish major
2nd runner-up:
“I’ll be the first to admit it … I’m a huge fan of Justin Timberlake! He’s such a Dreamboat!”
– Wesley Bernstein, sophomore film and English major, Temple University
Honorable mentions:
“C’mon, guys. I know I’m not the only one who likes that song ‘In the Navy!'”
– Chris Mulligan, senior chemistry major
“OK, we’re about to set sail for the Persian Gulf; who wants to stay behind?”
– Mr. B
“High-five to peace, Saddam!”
– Andrew Nicky, senior English major
“Everyone wave goodbye to the last lingering bit of other nations’ respect for the U.S.”
– Tom Mills, freshman undecided business major
“To all my homies in Texas, big ups!”
“Dave Matthews tickets, oh, sign me up!”
“Joe Millionaire eat your heart out!”
“Navy is the ONLY color to wear when you’re going to war. Duh!”
