Meet the people who represent you

By Sara Blankenheim

Ever wonder exactly who is representing your opinions every Sunday at the Student Association Senate meetings?

You can find out tonight at “Meet the Senate Night” and even get free pizza.

SA Sen. Philip Stroud is one of the senators who will be in attendance.

“I’d like to see the students show up,” he said. “Then, the senate can explain what we’ve been doing, what we’ve been planning and hopefully we can gather some ideas from the students of what they’d like to see.”

The SA senators will answer questions and allow you to express your opinions.

Sen. Donna Dalton also will be in attendance.

“As a senator, I’d like to see a lot of student involvement,” she said. “Some people don’t even know what the SA is, so that’s why we’re holding this night.”

The idea for “Meet the Senate Night” is something that has been around for awhile.

“It’s something that the SA has wanted to do for the last two years,” Stroud said. “It finally came into being this year.”

The senators are forming their expectations for the event and hoping for the best.

“I’d really like to get ideas to see what students want from their student government,” Dalton said.
