CAB box office workers threatened

Missed buses have caused several unidentified NIU students to threaten Campus Activities Board box office workers.

According to a press release from the Student Association, several complaints from the Campus Activities Board have been made regarding the Fox Valley Shuttle service.

Nicole Fulton, assistant manger of the ticket office, said there have been three instances since the office opened a year ago where a worker has been threatened.

In a letter dated Feb. 20 sent to Rick Clark, director of University Programming and Activities, Fulton and ticket manager Kevin Quaid had requested shuttle tickets no longer be sold from the CAB box office.

The first instance, Fulton said, occurred in the last fall. One patron said the bus did not pick her up where it was supposed to and called the ticket office threatening the worker.

Another incident that was reported happened about a month ago.

Fulton said the the man said the bus did not pick him up at the right spot. This forced the man to take an $80 cab ride back to the campus.

“He called the SA; they never got back to him,” Fulton said.

The man then reportedly came to the ticket both and threatened the seller.

Fulton said that the workers involved have yet to file formal reports. She said all workers are going to be required to fill out incident reports every time a similar incident should occur.

The Fox Valley Shuttle will not resume service until March 21.
