Forum held for SA hopefuls

The Pan Asian Interest Student Alliance hosted an open forum on Wednesday for Student Association candidates.

Representatives from two of the three tickets showed to answer questions from students.

Presidential candidate Shaun Crisler and student trustee candidate were present at the forum, as were treasurer candidates Joshua Blakemore and Andrew Josephson.

Meyer’s key issues include open government, tuition costs, university budget, changing due process rights on campus and parking fines, he said.

“The SA is fundamentally flawed,” Meyer said.

Crisler said his key issues involve the SA book exchange and student organizational changes, as well as making teacher’s assistant training mandatory and looking for alternate funding to help support student organizations.

“I would like to see the Student Association in more of a position of power,” Crisler said.

The alliance did not endorse any of the candidates.
