Holocaust depicted through literature

Through the literary works of NIU English instructor Steve Franklin, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, in continuation of the Notables Brown Bag Lecture Series, will present a lecture about the Holocaust.
The Institute for Learning in Retirement is a program for individuals older than 55 to continue or start their education. The lecture is open to the public, and NIU undergraduate students are encouraged to attend. This lecture is one of many lectures that are a part of the Notables Brown Bag Lecture Series.
Steve Franklin will have an outlined history of the Holocaust that acontextualizes and situates the Holocaust in history, said Anne Petty, program coordinator for the Institute for Learning in Retirement.
Steve Franklin specializes in literature that focuses on the Holocaust. He will read several literary passages and will lecture from his educational experience about the Holocaust. Petty said the purpose of this event is to educate the NIU community about the Holocaust through classic literary works.
