Time to mix up for the dance kids
February 20, 2003
Otto’s Niteclub will be spinning come Saturday.
Digital Climax, a Chicago-native deejays show, and local talents will play at Otto’s, 118 E. Lincoln Highway. It will be presented by the DeKalb Nightlife Association.
Heading up the show is DJ 3D, a well-known DJ from Chicago. He has been spinning music for 17 years, gaining him the name The Godfather of Chicago Drum and Bass. He will play the highest quality drum and bass music to get the party started. Submerge 101, also known as Techno Stomper, is the other headlining deejay who will perform hard-hitting techno and hard house music. Jason Middle, an up-and-coming deejay from Chicago, will play the saxophone over his set.
There will be many other deejays at the show, including some local talents such as Turbotic, Zero Degrees K and Bryan Balli. Those deejays will spin everything from house to really dark drum and bass. DJ Release, an NIU student, will spin atmospheric drum and bass along with fellow student Billy O, who spins all genres of house.
This isn’t the first time Otto’s has had an event like this. “Chilled Out 3: Iced Out” was held last December.
The show was a success with more than 400 people in attendance. DeKalb Nightlife member and deejay Judd Lauger is excited about this week’s show.
“We got a lot of people at the last show, but we are hoping for an even bigger turnout this weekend,” he said.
The show will be split into two rooms, one for the 21-and-over crowd and another for 18-and-over kids. In the main room, you will find Submerge 101, DJ 3D, Jason Middle and Turbotic. In the Underground, designated for the 21-and-over crowd, will be Bryan Balli, Zero Degrees K, Billy O, Liquid G-Zus, DJ Release and Dale Roberts.
Digital Climax will be held Saturday beginning at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
