Forecasting fashion is never an easy task.
It is time to get swept away by spring’s bright, sexy and sophisticated new looks. Light and fun colors like lilac, coral, sky blue and peach are the new trends for spring.
-As the weather gets warmer, it will be time for us to strip off all our layers and put on a dress or some shorts. Women who are thinking about wearing a dress should look for any style that is flirty, feminine and romantic. The hottest new look for women is anything showing off shoulders – the sexier the better.
There are many new trends for spring. The first is to wear anything reminiscent of the ’40s and ’50s, such as clutch hand purses and dresses cut right below the knees. If you are feeling daring this season, the miniskirt is a hot item, the shorter the sexier.
The next trend all over women’s clothing is the Oriental influence. Anything with Oriental print – especially dresses – will be hot this season. In fact, any sort of flora or fauna print will be a must for spring.
A big trend we will see across campus is the clean, uncluttered sports leisure wear. No more sweatpants and sweatshirts. Try matching track pants and jackets. Be daring and show your midriff; even throw on a pair of extra short shorts. Just stay with the matching look, and you will be a hit. Athletic gear will be a trend among men also, so go ahead and wear that muscle T-shirt and those athletic shorts.
Sixties-inspired clothing that drapes over to reveal sections of the body will be rampant on the designer runways this season. All those hippie-like styles or tie-dyed T-shirts from the ’60s definitely are out. Sleek and sexy clothes with a modern retro feel will be a big hit this season.
Another interesting trend is a collection of clothing inspired by parachute and flight gear. Now that may sound a bit weird, but fashion forecasters agree it will be a hot look. A sort of modern vintage twist on flight attendant gear is the look.
-The shoe all women should wear is a timeless classic. The mule is the hottest style for spring. Light and sexy colors make the mule a great highlight for any outfit.
Men’s fashion this season will be social and sophisticated. Frosted blue and terra cotta are two colors that should grace all men’s closets this spring. Men are going for a modern vintage look, layering sweaters with light tan colored pants, possibly cargo. The sloppy look is totally out for men; so guys make sure to wear a belt with your pants. Military-style jackets for men are another great style for spring.
Another no-no for the season is to wear all those little sparkly and shiny things. If you want to sparkle, wear a big vintage pin or carry a large, orange clutch purse. The new rule for accessories is “the bigger the better.”
Spring will be a season to ring in the old, and ring in the new. So wear all your bright colors and stand out. You surely will get noticed for all the right reasons.
