The days of waiting by your window for the cable guy to install your cable television finally are over.

There’s a new business in town called Solutions Now Inc. that provides a wide variety of services for both personal and business-related tasks. It was created by two NIU graduates, Lynn Buckner and Renee Lawson, who wanted to help companies and people with the kinds of services that they just did not have the time for.

One of the services they offer is that they will wait at your home for a cable company to install your cable television, Lawson said.

The business was started in October and has blossomed into a busy person’s dream come true. Solutions Now mainly has been helping local companies expand and become more efficient by organizing file systems and inventory.

So far, their personal services have been mostly for senior citizens, but Buckner and Lawson are setting their sights on college students now. For example, students without transportation who cannot carry all their groceries on the Huskie Bus can have Solutions Now do their shopping and drop it off at their door.

Solutions Now also offers business support services for companies that are unable to complete projects because they either do not have the time or the manpower to do so.

They offer training in many areas of business, especially for computer-related needs, such as teaching how to use various software programs. They also can train customer service representatives.

“We can do the leg work for you,” Buckner said.

In addition to training, Solutions Now can help a company start marketing itself.
