Greeks host SA forum

The Panhellenic Council and the Interfraternity Council held their President’s Council meeting Wednesday night featuring SA executive election candidates as guest speakers.

Presidential candidates Shaun Crisler and Eric Youngquist, as well as student trustee candidate Jeffrey Meyer, were in attendance.

Greek Adviser Chris Juhl said all the SA executive election candidates were invited, and he said he hoped all the candidates will be able to attend the March 4 meeting.

“I hope that is more than enough notice for them to come to the meetings,” Juhl said. He requested that the Greeks question the candidates as to what their plan for the Greeks is.

“We want them to take our needs seriously,” Juhl said.

Crisler spoke first to the crowd of Greek chapter presidents and other Greek students. He spoke briefly and mentioned that three-quarters of his ticket is Greek, including himself.

Meyer spoke next saying despite the fact he did not have any Greek candidates on his ticket, he still can represent the Greeks. He said increased bus service for Barsema Hall will benefit the Greek Row area.

Youngquist spoke last and said his ticket platform will be for SA meetings to be more openly run. He also said the buses running to Barsema Hall and by Greek Row are essential.

“We’re going to come together as a council and support one ticket,” said Tim Samp, president of the IFC.

Samp said all the campus Greek councils will come together on March 17 and determine if they are going to support one ticket as a whole.
