A man allegedly struck three police officers during an altercation Saturday, according to DeKalb police reports.
Scott Williams, 38, of 906 Kimberly Drive, No. 9, was arrested and charged with four counts of battery, resisting arrest and trespass to a vehicle, at 5:16 a.m. at 906 Kimberly Drive.
According to the police report, Williams’ vehicle was being relocated by a tow truck.
Williams allegedly trespassed into the A to Z Towing truck and battered the driver.
At some point during the attempted removal of the car, Williams allegedly dragged the driver of the tow truck out of the vehicle and entered it himself.
“He was upset about [A to Z Towing] moving his car,” said Sgt. Jason Leverton of the DeKalb Police Department.
When DeKalb police attempted to arrest Williams, he allegedly resisted and hit three police officers.
Leverton said the tow truck was trying to remove the truck from the apartment building parking lot when Williams responded.
“The batteries occurred as a result of the police officers trying to arrest him,” Leverton said.
Police say Williams resisted arrest, and pushed and shoved the police officers.
None of the officers involved in the altercation were hurt. Leverton was unable to release the names of the officers involved.
Williams was taken to DeKalb County jail and since has posted bond.
Leverton said that Williams was not charged with a felony offense since none of the officers actually were hurt.
