Take time to unwind at BSU’s costume ball
October 31, 2002
For those of you who are interested in escaping the typical party scene, Black Student Union is hosting its first Halloween costume ball tonight.
The “Monster’s Ball,” which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. at the Holmes Student Center’s Regency Room.
“We wanted to get away from the typical party scene and have a party with more of a theme,” said Steve Duroseau, senior business marketing major and president of BSU.
This event is the first of its kind. Duroseau hopes it will become an annual event to help students escape from the classic party scene.
“We decided we wanted to have an event that wasn’t costly because most other parties cost $5 to $7,” said Frank Rodgers, senior finance major and vice president for BSU. “No one will have an excuse not to come.”
BSU hopes that students will come to relax after midterms.
“Hopefully it’ll give students the chance to unwind,” said Quinette Sterling, junior sociology major and assistant director for programming for BSU.
