Pizza delivery driver robbed
September 19, 2002
DeKalb police now have a description of a man who allegedly robbed a pizza delivery person on Wednesday.
The delivery person was robbed at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday at 115 John St., according to DeKalb police reports.
The DeKalb police report that the robber “implied he had a weapon” and robbed the person for an “undisclosed amount of money.”
DeKalb police currently are searching for a black male in his 20s who is six-foot-three and 190 lbs.
He was seen wearing a black sweatshirt, dark pants and a ninja-type mask which covered most of his face and eyes. The man reported has bushy eyebrows with a smooth complexion.
Kristi Cradduck, general manager of Papa John’s, 725 N. First Street., said the delivery man was robbed after making a delivery.
Cradduck said the robber apparently faked having some kind of weapon by gesturing toward his pocket.
“He did not lose anything of his person,” Cradduck said, implying that he did not lose anything of a personal nature.
Cradduck did not believe the robbery was a set-up.
She commented on how a couple of orders in the past have been faked, intending to set up a delivery person for a robbery. She thought it was more likely to be a random occurrence.
Cradduck did say that at the time of the robbery, the delivery man had been working for nearly eight hours and his shift was almost over.
