Two area men jailed
July 29, 2002
In unrelated incidents, two DeKalb County men were charged with criminal sexual abuse cases last week.
Eric Sepulveda, 27, of Maple Park, was charged with criminal sexual abuse July 24 after allegedly abusing a female in the 900 block of State Street in Sycamore.
Sepulveda reportedly was out drinking with a friend when he went to the above address, DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott said.
He apparently had a friend who lived in the same area as the female who was attacked. The victim called the police around 2:24 a.m. Wednesday.
This is Sepulveda’s second offense of the same type of crime, which is why it is considered a felony, Scott said. The case becomes a Class 2 felony and could land Sepulveda up to seven years in prison if he’s convicted.
Sepulveda was released from prison in July 1999 from his prior conviction.
He currently is at the DeKalb County Jail with bond set at $50,000. His court date is scheduled for Aug. 16, DeKalb County Lt. Van Bomar said.
In an unrelated case, DeKalb County Sheriff’s police charged Clyde Donley, 46, of Sun Prairie, Wis., for allegedly molesting a juvenile.
The 12-year-old victim was sleeping over at Donley’s daughter’s house in Earlville when he allegedly molested her.
Her parents reported the case to the police and Donley was arrested and taken to the DeKalb County jail. He posted 10 percent of his $50,000 pond and was released on July 23, Scott said.
Donley’s court date also is on August 16.
