A DeKalb woman has been arrested in conjunction with an attempted robbery that occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday at Subway, 162 W. Lincoln Highway.

Angela K. Skilling, 29, is being charged with armed robbery, a class X felony, carrying a 6- to 30-year jail sentence and up to $25,000 in fines.

Police said Skilling attempted to rob the store with a knife she picked up from behind the counter.

Police said store employees chased her off before anything could be taken from the store.

During the altercation, one employee suffered a laceration that required stitches from Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

Skilling is being held in the DeKalb County Jail pending a bond hearing.
