Win separates women from .5
February 2, 2001
Having won four in a row and eight of its last 10 games, the NIU women’s basketball team is now just one win away from the .500 mark.
The Huskies will try to extend their win streak to five games when Eastern Michigan comes to Chick Evans Field House for a 7:05 p.m. Saturday tipoff.
NIU defeated the Eagles 68-56 three weeks ago in Ypsilanti, holding them to 28-percent shooting for the game. The Huskies came back from a 29-24 halftime deficit to seal the game.
In order for the Huskies to even their record at 11, they will need Kim Boeding, Kristan Knake and Mickey Johnson to play as they did at Eastern Michigan. Along with those three, the pressure is on Jennifer Youngblood, who has shot 41 of 55 in her last six games for a 75-percent showing.
The Huskies are undefeated at home in the Mid-American Conference with a 4-0 record.
