9 additional students test positive for COVID-19, 2 students recover

The DeKalb County Health Department announced 10 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number to 8,662.

DeKALB — NIU announced Friday that nine additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and two students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Friday, 24 students and four employees are currently COVID-19 positive.
The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 310 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 282 have recovered.
As of Friday at 3:20 p.m., NIU is at 11.2% quarantine and isolation use. This is a 0.7% increase from Thursday.
