5 additional students test positive for COVID-19, 9 students recover

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that five additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and nine students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 44 students and seven employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 376 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 325 have recovered.

As of  Monday at 3:40 p.m., NIU is at 8.6% quarantine and isolation use. This is a 1.2% increase from Friday.

The NIU COVID-19 Helpline has been replaced by an online checklist. Students, faculty or staff who test positive, are exposed to or experience COVID-19 symptoms are required to complete the checklist. Additional guidance will be given via email upon completion of the checklist.
