DeKALB — The Mid-American Conference has set the women’s cross country conference championship for Nov. 21. The host for the event has yet to be determined.

The MAC announced Monday the conference has come up with a plan for the 2020-21 cross country season. The plan was approved by the MAC Directors of Athletics, which would include men’s cross country as well, and includes recommendations for conduct during the season, according to a Monday MAC news release.

The season will still be taking place while mitigating health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the plan is still being put into effect, the recommendations of the race dates by the MAC conference will still be subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with state and local health guidelines.

NIU’s Cross Country twitter page sent out a tweet Monday saying, “We’re back!”
