DeKALB — NIU’s Public Interest Law Society, PILS and the Student Bar Association, SBA are having a Halloween trivia night hosted by Dean Anderson, the staff supervisor at 6 p. m. Friday.

PILS is, a “group that raises money in order to provide people who work unpaid public interest internships with stipends to cover the cost of living that they won’t be able to cover themselves,” PILS President Tessa Skogh said.

The upcoming trivia night is going to be over the NIU Student Bar Association’s BlackBoard classroom, Skogh said. During the trivia night, participants will be asked a mix of questions related to Halloween and law. For any winners prizes will be awarded and all the prizes will be gift cards. With the event being virtual, Skogh said she’s happy to meet up with individuals to give them their prizes, if they’re local. And if they’re not local then they won’t be hard to send out because they’re gift cards.

The event also requires the minimum donation of $1 in order to participate in the event, said Skogh. All the money raised will help provide outreach assistantships to students involved in unpaid public interest. Any donations for the trivia night can be sent to the SBA Venmo @niusba2020 or their CashApp $NIUSBA, according to the PILS Facebook page.
