DeKALB — NIU announced Thursday that five additional students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and one student has recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Thursday, 32 students and two employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 642 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 608 have recovered.

As of Thursday at 3 p.m., NIU is at an 8% quarantine and isolation use, the same as Wednesday.

There were 1,329 tests administered for students who moved back to campus for the spring semester. Of those 1,329 tests, 20 were positive, and the positivity rate for gateway testing was 1.5%.
