DeKALB — NIU announced Tuesday that 15 additional students and one employee has tested positive for the coronavirus, and five students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Tuesday 44 students and three employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 662 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 615 have recovered.

As of Tuesday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 7.4% quarantine and isolation use, the same as Friday.  

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,241 COVID-19 tests during the week of Jan. 11 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.9%, with 11 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
