Four additional students test positive for COVID-19.

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that five additional students and two employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and four students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 35 students and six employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 749 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 708 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 4.9% quarantine and isolation use, the same as Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,832 COVID-19 tests during the week of Feb. 8 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.6%, with 11 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
