DeKALB – Egyptian Theatre is hosting BOO’ze & Spirits Flashlight Tours at 8 p.m. March 5 continue every Friday in March. Doors will open at 7.

The BOO’ze & Spirits Flashlight Tour showcases why the Egyptian Theatre,135 N. Second St., is in the top 10 most haunted theater in Illinois, according to the website. Staff members will share their stories and secrets about the theater with guests.

Guests will hear about the history and the spirits of the 91-year-old building, said Jeanine Holcomb, Egyptian Theatre Communications and Marketing Director.

“I wish I could promise ghost activity every time we have had tours,”  Holcomb said. “There’s been sound they can’t explain or pictures taken by patrons that we just cannot explain. If you’re on Instagram, check out our picture from the past week, week or two, there’s one a Patreon took up in our balcony. There’s something there and I don’t know what it is.”

The tour will be done in the dark. Guests are required to bring their own flashlights and wear masks.

Holcomb said her favorite part about the tour is the reactions she receives from visitors. People are left gasping, laughing and asking questions. Holcomb said people always leave with learning something new.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students & seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Egyptian Theatre website

Tickets for Friday and Feb. 26 are sold out.
