2 additional students, 2 employees test positive for COVID-19

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that two additional students and two employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and one student has recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 22 students and five employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 804 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 777 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 1.2% quarantine and isolation use, same as Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 2,325 COVID-19 tests during the week of March 1 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.4%, with nine recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
