When it comes to appetizers, there are so many to choose from. Whether it is nachos, wings, quesadillas or garlic bread, appetizers are always a people favorite. A common favorite is mozzarella sticks. This appetizer is sure to be a favorite at parties, gatherings and for dinner one night. With a quick cook time, the recipe is very fun and easy to make! 

 

FRIED MOZZARELLA CHEESE STICKS

Start to finish: 30 mins

Servings: 8

 

2 eggs, beaten

¼ cup water

1 ½ cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs

½ teaspoon garlic salt

⅔ cup all-purpose flour

⅓ cup cornstarch

1 quart oil for deep frying

1 (16 ounce) package mozzarella cheese sticks

 

To make the fried mozzarella cheese sticks, begin with mixing the eggs and water in a small bowl. 

In a medium bowl, mix the bread crumbs and garlic salt. After, in another medium bowl blend the flour and cornstarch. 

Using a large heavy heavy saucepan, heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). 

Carefully, one at a time coat each mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, then the bread crumbs, and then lastly into the oil. Fry all of them until they are golden brown, about 30 seconds. Remove from the heat and drain onto paper towels.
