Weekly weather update for March 15

The East Lagoon at NIU will sit empty the first week of the Spring 22 semester. NIU announced the decision to begin online starting Jan. 18. NIU expects to return to normal learning Jan. 25.

DeKALB — The week of March 15 will see several chances for precipitation including snow and will remain in the low to mid 40s until the weekend. Forecast data was provided by the National Weather Service

 

Monday

Monday will be breezy with snow in the afternoon. The daytime will be near 31 degrees with an east wind of around 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100% with 1 to 3 inches of snow possible, before turning into freezing rain during the overnight hours.  

 

Tuesday

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of freezing drizzle. The high will be near 42 degrees and there will be a low of 28 degrees in the evening. 

 

Wednesday

Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high near 46 degrees. There will be a 50% chance of rain after 8 p.m., with an evening low around 34 degrees.

 

Thursday

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 44 degrees. Expect lingering precipitation with rain and snow mixtures possible throughout the day. Temperatures will drop during the evening to a low around 31 degrees. 

 

Friday

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 46. Temperatures will drop to a low around 27 degrees overnight. 

 

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a daytime high near 52. Saturday will see mostly clear skies as it drops to a low around 31 degrees. 

 

Sunday

Sunday will be sunny with a daytime high near 58 degrees.
