1 more student tests positive for COVID-19, 11 students recover

As of Thursday, two students and no employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that one additional student and no employee have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 11 students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 12 students and four employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 808 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 792 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 1.2% quarantine and isolation use, the same as Thursday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,876 COVID-19 tests during the week of March 8 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.10%, with one recorded positive result, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
