25 additional students test positive for COVID-19

DeKALB — NIU announced Wednesday that 25 students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and four students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Wednesday, 82 students and two employees are currently COVID-19 positive.
Wednesday’s numbers are the highest amount of COVID-19 cases the university has seen the entire semester. April 13 saw 23 new cases, making it the second-highest day of positive cases, according to the dashboard.
The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 980 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 896 have recovered.
As of Wednesday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 20.9% quarantine and isolation use, a 1.9% increase from Tuesday.
