NIU increases guest limit for graduation ceremonies

DeKALB – NIU will host two separate graduation ceremonies June 26 and June 27 for 2020 graduates due to the volume of guests who have completed an RSVP form, according to a May 4 email sent to graduates. 

One commencement ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. June 26 for undergraduates of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Business. Another commencement ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. June 27 for undergraduates of the College of Education, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and the College of Health and Human Sciences. 

Graduation ceremonies for specialists, master’s and performer’s certificate recipients are still scheduled for 10 a.m. June 25. Graduation ceremonies for 2021 graduates will continue as planned for June 4, 5 and 6. All ceremonies will be held at the Huskie Stadium.

All 2020 and 2021 graduates will also be allowed to invite four guests, an increase from 2 guests per graduate.  

Guests of graduates must RSVP by May 10.
