County cases rise to 10,267

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 10,267.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,860 are younger than 19, 2,505 are in their 20s, 1,541 are in their 30s, 1,393 are in their 40s, 1,264 are in their 50s, 844 are in their 60s, 449 are in their 70s and 411 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 119 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

DeKalb County has administered 79,230 vaccines as of Friday, and 36,014 county residents are fully vaccinated, 34.5% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.

Statewide, there are 1.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 22,739 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 5.2 million residents as of Friday, 40.8% of the state population.
