Monday
- Why Cite? Avoiding Plagiarism: Giving credit where credit is due is vitally important in academic writing. Join the Huskie Academic Success Center and Orientation and First Year Programs for this workshop at noon in the Holmes Student Center, Heritage Room.
- Overcoming Fear: Retraining Your Brain: During this training, students will gain an understanding of the origins of their fears and the ways in which they can manage fear. The event will be virtual at 1 p.m., register here.
- Well-O-Ween: Open Mic – Roommate Horror Stories: Help others to learn about how to navigate roommate troubles. This event is at 6 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, OASIS Space.
Tuesday
- Well-O-Ween: Yoga for Blood Flow: A beginner-friendly Vinyaya flow that’ll get the blood pumping! Come in a creepy costume but be sure to be able to move and stretch. The class will be at 8 a.m. in the Student Recreation Center.
- Yoga: Students can connect their mind and body with yoga poses, balance, conscious breathing, and relaxation. The event will be at 8 a.m. in the Student Recreation Center, Fitness Studio B.
- SAP Appeal Process Overview and Q&A: Financial Advisors will provide a brief overview of what SAP is, the requirements to meet SAP, and explain the different SAP statuses. The event will be at 10 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.
- Ready. Set. Research! 10 Steps to Jumpstart Your Undergraduate Research or Creative Inquiry Career: Take the first step to get involved in undergraduate research and learn about resources NIU has to offer to support you through this experience. This event will be at 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.
- Conversation with the Provost: Executive Vice President and Provost Ingram invites students to join her for an open conversation with fellow Huskies. The event will be at 3 p.m. in the Engineering Building, Room 358.
- Developing a Great LinkedIn Profile Workshop: Learn how to create an exciting LinkedIn profile at this 4 p.m. meeting via Microsoft Teams.
- Fall Festival: Learn how Mid-Autumn festivals are celebrated in various Asian countries and enjoy participating in cultural activities. The event will be at 5 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Sky Room.
- Well-O-Ween: Let’s Get Physical: 80s Themed Dance Group Fitness: This class will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center.
Wednesday
- Delta Sigma Pi- Bake Sale Fundraiser: The bake sale will be at 11 a.m. in Barsema Hall, Atrium.
- Bake Sale: The sale will be at 1 p.m. in DuSable Hall.
- Search for Your Future: Finding Internship & Job Openings: Learn the basics of the internship and job search process. This workshop focuses on how to prepare for and search for internships and jobs. The event will be at 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.
- Information Interviewing: Gaining the Insider’s Perspective on Your Career: Attend this workshop to learn how to make connections with people who will give the inside scoop. The event will be at 3 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.
- Food Fight: Win Your Inner Battle with Intuitive Eating: This event will be at 5 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center.
- Well-O-Ween: Halloween Paint Night: Get creative and have fun this Halloween by joining our free guided painting event. Register for this free event at [email protected] by Oct. 26. The event will be at 6 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, OASIS Space.
Thursday

- Well-O-Ween: De-Stress Fest: Stop by the de-stress fest for some self-care activities, giant board games, painting, treats, and more. The event will be at 6 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, OASIS Space.

- BGSA Semi-Annual Succulent Sale: Purchase a succulent at 10 a.m. in the Montgomery Hall Auditorium.
- Outdoor Adventures: Trick-or-Treat Hunt: Join NIU Outdoor Adventures for a night of fun and shenanigans starting at 7 p.m. in the MLK Commons next to the Holmes Student Center.
