English department hosting Annual Showcase of Student Writing
DeKALB— On Thursday, April 7 the 13th Annual Showcase of Student Writing will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at the Holmes Student Center.
The free event is sponsored by the English department’s first-year composition program and is open to the public, according to a Department of English press release.
The showcase provides a platform for many NIU amateur scholars to share their work with a public audience. Students will present their work through a combination of both written material and visual media.
The projects are developed with an emphasis on using evidence of research, critical thinking, delivery and visual rhetoric.
At the end of the event, there will be a short awards ceremony where a certificate will be given to outstanding research projects.
For more information and details regarding the event, Faye Scott, the Showcase of Student Writing coordinator can be contacted at [email protected].
