Sad sight

I am writing this letter in response to the editorial comic strip and article regarding the accessibility to buildings (classes) for persons with disabilities. It is truly a sad sight to see that this person who wrote the article did not have the facts straight before writing his/her opinion.

To clarify the situation, let’s start by acknowledging the fact that persons with disabilities are exactly that. PERSONS!! They have just as much right to be in the classroom as the “normal” persons do.

Secondly, the matter of money comes to mind. The funds used for accessibility to these buildings comes from a separate fund than that of class funds. So next time this person decides to write his/her opinion into print, they should realize that they are dealing with people as well as separate funds.
