Lecture on Cooperative Education scheduled
February 26, 1992
NIU students seeking work experience can attend a lecture Wednesday about Cooperative Education.
Co-op program Director Douglas Davis will give the lecture titled, “What Does Cooperative Education Offer Students?” to inform students about the program’s benefits.
The program is part of a brown-bag luncheon to be held at noon at the Office of University Resources for Women.
“We want to tell people about the benefits of Co-op. Gaining work experience, reinforcing skills learned in the classroom and discovering career interests are very important to students,” Davis said.
The lecture is one in a series of 12 afternoon lectures sponsored by the Office of University Resources for Women, Director Sharon Howard said.
The series will run through April 29 and will focus on a wide variety of women’s issues.
“We try to focus on a broad range of topics that are of interest to women, such as the changing family, health issues, sexual harassment and career planning,” Howard said. “We also have presentations for different subgroups of women at NIU, especially minorities and older students. Men can attend these presentations, too.”
