DeKALB – Compared to prices a month ago, the average price of gasoline has fallen 11.9 cents per gallon in the last week. Gas prices are now averaging around $3.98 per gallon according to GasBuddy. Gasoline in Illinois is 31.3 cents per gallon cheaper than prices a month ago, but are 75 cents per gallon higher compared to a year ago.
When comparing the cheapest and most expensive gas prices in Illinois, they have a difference of $2.55 between them. Gasoline was priced at $3.32 per gallon on the lower end, while the higher end was priced at $5.87 per gallon.
As for the national average price, it has fallen by 7.6 cents per gallon and now averages around $3.67 per gallon. This places the national average price at lower than it was a month ago by 26.9 cents per gallon. However, prices are still 52.3 cents higher per gallon than they were a year ago. As for diesel prices, they stand at $5.01 per gallon and are down by 5.5 cents per gallon according to data collected by GasBuddy. GasBuddy data covers over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
