What I’m watching this weekend: Gino Hernandez
It’s that time of the year again when the weather gets colder, and the leaves begin to change their color. With autumn on the horizon, here are a select few shows which should fit this colorful season.

“Sonny Boy” is an isekai/mystery anime series created by MadHouse. The series ran from July 16, 2021, to Oct. 1, 2021, consisting of 12 episodes in total.
The world of “Sonny Boy” is inhabited by a group of high school students who are taken to different worlds. The main protagonist is Nagara, voiced by Aoi Ichikawa, a boy who is apathetic to the world around him until he meets an eccentric girl named Nozomi, voiced by Saori Ōnishi.
Through Nozomi’spositive influence, Nagara’s world begins to change, both literally and figuratively. “Sonny Boy” encompasses concepts such as growing up, depression, grief and the will to continue on despite it all.
SPY X FAMILY (Crunchyroll)
“SPY X FAMILY” is an action-comedy and family anime series that is co-produced by CloverWorks and Wit Studios. The series is based on the ongoing manga series “Spy x Family” created by Tatsuya Endo premiered on April 9. The series is set to return on Oct. 1 with13 more episodes.
The series surrounds a “family” pretending to live normal lives, but in reality they are all hiding secrets about themselves that they can’t reveal to anyone … not even each other. The main protagonists of this series are Anya, a telepath, Yor, an assassin, and Loid Forger, a spy. The story revolves around Loid’s mission to get close to Donovan Desmond, the chairman of the National Unity Party of Ostania.
The very premise of this story feels nostalgic to spy movies made in the 1960’s to early 2000’s, and yet provides a compelling story that satisfies its audience more than mere nostalgia. The true heart of the story is how three lonely people find solace with each other, and feel like a real family even though it is just an act.
