DeKalb Public Library to host weekend showing of ‘Honey on the Rocks’

The DeKalb Public Library is hosting a Microsoft Excel workshop at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24.

DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library will be holding an after-hours concert “Honey on the Rocks” on Saturday with selections from Danny Vapul and Jill Buhagiar’s favorite jazz, pop and potential surprise songs.

Vapul has spent 40 years as a band teacher at local high schools, and has performing experience with groups such as The Shenanigans, Class Act and Jazz in Progress, and  big bands such as the Kishwaukee Concert Band and Black Tie Trio. Vapul has also been involved in over 100 musicals with DeKalb’s Stagecoach Players, Indian Valley Theatre and Vince Carney Theatre.

Buhagiar has a year of experience singing and dancing on the SS Oceanic cruise ship, and has worked with Vapul for two stagecoach musicals and other ensembles such as “The Versatiles” and “Honey on the Rocks.”

No registration is needed for the show, and is free for all to attend. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m.
