The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday

At 1:28 a.m., officers responded to a 808 Ridge Drive residence for a report of disorderly conduct. Following an investigation, Michael J. Phillips Jr., 20, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcoholic liquor.

At 1:38 p.m., officers responded to 207 John St. on an anonymous report of several individuals in a blue Hyundai possibly smoking cannabis. Following an investigation, Patrick J. Brantner, 22, and Scott M. Koley, 19, were both arrested. Bratner was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Koley was charged with city ordinance: unlawful possession of cannabis.

At 7:12 p.m., officers responded to a retail theft at Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road. Following an investigation, Steven R. Johnson, 18, and Harry Garnett, 19, were charged with retail theft.

Monday

At 10:30 a.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of identity theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 11:43 a.m., an officer on patrol of Davis Hall met with Justin M. Kink, 21, of Rockford. Kink had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Kink was arrested and sent to the NIU Police Department. He was released on a $200 bond.

At 12:56 p.m., officers met with Kevin J. Bailey, 19, of Bolingbrook, at the 900 block of Ridge Road. Bailey had an active arrest warrant for theft. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and sent to the DeKalb County jail.

At 10:14 p.m., officers were sent to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of theft. The officers met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
