Hockey an affordable option

By ANDREA BRADLEY | January 29, 2008

Rant

January 25, 2008

If one day, you open the coaching book and find the term "remote coaching," Marci Miller, the "head" coach of the women's soccer team will be credited as the reference.

The amazing success of the 2006 team should be clearly credited to players who, without a head coach, delivered a MAC championship game.

Instead of being on the sidelines, Ms. Miller used remote lineups and telephone calls as a way of managing the games.

Imagine how good this team would do if it had a real head coach.

I just hope that for the next year, she has a good telephone service plan, otherwise she will be foolishly wasting her "hard-earned" coaching money.
