Blotter 4/16

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

At 1:40 a.m., following a traffic stop at 800 Greenbrier Road, John D. Huggins, 24, was charged with driving with a suspended license and no rear registration light.

At 2:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in response to a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Diamond D. Crawford, 19, and Ciara L. Pickens, 19, were both charged with retail theft. Crawford was released on bond and Pickens was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 1:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to Buena Vista Golf Course, 131 Buena Vista Drive, for an intoxicated subject call. The complainant said a male brandished a knife and was intoxicated. Following an investigation, Dylan J. Blackston, 20, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

At 8:45 a.m., a victim called a coworker, who called the police department, to report a domestic situation with a knife. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim outside the residence on Sunflower Drive. The victim said the suspect choked her during an argument and she then grabbed a knife with which to defend herself. The suspect was contacted and said he pushed the victim. Richard T. Baker, 39, was charged with two counts of domestic battery. Baker was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 7:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a South First Street residence in reference to a domestic dispute. Officers spoke to both individuals involved and an investigation was started.

At 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Schnucks, 975 S. Annie Glidden Road, for a retail theft complaint. An investigation was started.

Friday

At 1:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to 316 Barberry Court for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers were unable to speak with the tenant and no one would answer the door. The suspect had received citations previously. Antoine L. Hunt, 35, was charged with keeping a disorderly house.

Sunday

At 3:52 a.m., officers were dispatched to 1114 Blackhawk Road for a report of a fight. Following an investigation, Bryan R. Gorecki, 21, was charged with keeping a disorderly house. Kala A. Wiebort, 19, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Joshua R. Moss, 26, was charged with a failure to appear warrant.

At 1:34 p.m. on March 30, an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for criminal damage.

At 2:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the parking deck in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 6:03 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Complex in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer made contact with the individual in question. The individual had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of disorderly house. Adale Cross, 19, was arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
