The Egyptian Theatre is located downtown DeKalb at 135 N. 2nd Street.

Come out into the snow and check out these fun events happening in the Dekalb community this Saturday. 

Jazz at the Egyptian

The Dekalb and Sycamore high school jazz ensembles will collaborate with NIU’s jazz orchestra in a can’t miss performance. The concert will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Egyptian Theater, located at 135 N. second St., DeKalb. This is the sixth annual “Jazz at the Egyptian” performance and is intended for all ages. Adult tickets cost $17, student and senior tickets cost $12 and kids 12 and under get in for $7. Tickets can be bought online at the Egyptian Theater website. Proceeds will go towards Dekalb, Sycamore and NIU music programs. 

 

Polarpalooza

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Hopkins Park, located at 1403 Sycamore Road, will be hosting their seventh annual Polarpalooza. This event is free and will include sledding, ice skating, hot chocolate, a snowman building contest and more. These activities are family friendly and are intended for all ages. Paint & Sip Hot Chocolate 

For a relaxing Saturday morning, visit the Dekalb Public Library from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a paint and sip event. Attendees will get hot chocolate and a canvas to paint whatever they desire on. All materials will be freely provided. The event is organized as a first come, first served basis as there will be limited space available. Self-Care Fair

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Sycamore Park District Community Center, located at 480 Airport Road, Sycamore, will be hosting vendors to share resources about mental health and self-care. This event is for everyone of all ages to learn more about health, wellness and making self-care a part of your everyday routine.
