The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb (UUFD) will be hosting their last Winter Farmers’ Market of the 2022-2023 season from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, Saturday, Feb. 11.

The market will take place in downtown DeKalb at 158 North Fourth St. with an admission of $1 per adult while children are free, according to a media release.

The Winter Market will feature locally sourced organic goods including meats and dairy from Hasselmann Family Farm in Mendota, organic French pastries and locally-raised honey from the Charter Grove Honey Farm in Sycamore, along with hot soup and beverages provided by the UUFD.

The market is a desirable place to find quality local presents for the upcoming holidays as encouraged by UUFD Market Coordinator Dorothy Coleman.

“Our February Winter Markets are the perfect time to take care of your Valentine’s Day, early

Easter, or just Cabin Fever shopping while also providing a great opportunity to support farmers and artisans in our local community,” says Coleman.

Amongst the activities, the UUFD hosts a used book sale with a variety of titles for all ages, with prices ranging at only 25 cents to $1.

“This year we have lots of new inventory in a variety of book categories for all ages and interests, so if you’ve visited our sale pre-COVID, you will not see the same books on the tables this year,” UUFD Book Sale Coordinator Danica Lovings said.

Live music from D.K. Kolars and other local musicians will play throughout the day amongst stands selling artisan crafts, homemade soaps and jewelry supporting hometown vendors.

The main entrance for admission locations will be located on N. First St., and the side entrance off of Locust St.

Parking will be located in front of the Locust St. entrance and accessible from the back of the church building, through an entrance from Locust St. Additional parking is available at the Van Buer city lot with street parking available nearby.

Additional vendors interested in the last few spots available can contact Coleman at [email protected]; 815-901-4332, or the UUFD Church Office at [email protected]; 815-756-7089, to request a registration form.
