DeKALB – After recording his 100th collegiate point on Saturday against Midland University, NIU Hockey graduate student forward Rodahn Evans picked up his first Huskie of the Week honor.
The milestone is the first time an NIU Hockey Division I player has recorded 100 points in their collegiate career.
With the point, Evans reached the 100-point mark in his 100th career game.
Evans recorded the historic point via an assist on freshman forward Micah Maldonado’s goal late in the first period of Saturday’s game.
The assist brought Evans to 11 points in 14 games played this season – the highest point total on the team.
Evans’ Huskie of the Week honor is the first time a member of NIU Hockey has received the award.
Evans and the Huskies return to action to take on the Illinois State University Redbirds at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10. in Bloomington.
The Northern Star sports section’s Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were chosen based on their weekly performance in competitions taking place from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29.
