The second day Tugs featured Sigma Nu vs. Alpha Sigma Phi, with SNU taking the win in both rounds to cut the match short on Tuesday evening.
The first round was close between the sides, with SNU taking a slow lead. Gaining control of the rope, SNU took the win under the 20-minute mark.
“We felt confident, we felt we had it, but it didn’t go our way,” said Jeremiah Alvarado, freshman physiology major and ASIG tugger.
ASIG’s strong start to the second rope was cut short when SNU took control, getting the win with time in their favor.
ASIG came out strong in two intense rounds, but SNU was able to take the advantage in both and pull out the win.
“We got a lot of work to do, a lot of practice, but I feel like we are gonna come back even stronger,” Alvarado said.
