Enough! If it were not for The Far Side, we would consider ceasing to read The Northern Star. Rodent Speak’s attempt to make up for lack of humor and meaning by substituting vulgarity has, in our opinion, negated the redeeming qualities of the paper.

We have learned to cope with the insipidity of this cartoon and all the others (excepting the aforementioned Far Side) by simply not reading them. But today, we unwittingly allowed our gaze to rest upon the attached Rodent Speak cartoon and were not only offended but (call us naive) surprised that such language is printed in this paper.

If humor is so hard to come by, try printing Police Beat on the cartoon page!
