Ariana Grande says ‘thank u, next’ to her exes

Ariana Grande is back with another breathtaking, emotional single, leaving listeners with full hearts and clear minds.

“Thank u, Next” is the 28th single Grande has released from 2011 to 2018 and features names of her recent ex-boyfriends. The powerful lyrics portray of the popstar rising above her former flames.

Amid the emotional setbacks Grande has recently suffered, including the terrorist attack at her 2017 concert and the sudden death of rapper Mac Miller, she comes out stronger.

Following Grande and comedian Pete Davidson’s breakup in October, social media uproared. Many fans were shocked the duo split so soon and were left wondering what Grande’s next move would be. “Thank u, Next” is the breakup song listeners never knew they needed.

“Thought I’d end up with Sean/But he wasn’t a match/Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh/Even almost got married/And for Pete, I’m so thankful/Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm/’Cause he was an angel,” Grande sings.

These lyrics aren’t just cute names she thought up; it’s a list of her exes. The rapper Big Sean, backup dancer Ricky Alvarez, Davidson and Miller. Each of them taught her something different, and she expands on it in this catchy single.

Grande proceeds into the upbeat chorus, “Thank u, next,” in which she states just how grateful she is for her exes and what they taught her about life. Former boyfriends taught Grande love, patience and pain.

After release, Grande received unwavering support from her fans and made an Instagram post thanking fans for their positive feedback.
