Journey with Me: My Weight Loss Trip Week Six
August 5, 2018
Week Six
As Rihanna once said, “Work, work, work, work, work…” is all I’ve been doing this summer. A job is important in order to put money in your wallet, but it’s also important to take care of yourself. Life is (thankfully) back to normal and I continue to go to the gym as often as I can, despite living out the lyrics of a 2016 Rihanna song.
The Plan
I have lost another two pounds this week and I couldn’t be happier. I felt as if I hit rock bottom when my diet and exercise were put on pause, but I’m back to my normal daily routine and so happy to be seeing progress.
Diet
I am super focused on diet now; cutting back on dairy and primarily drinking water. Instead of eating unhealthy food at work, I take my own lunches and plan out my meals each day. Fruits, mostly apples, and chicken breast have been my go-to foods.
Exercise
My workouts are lasting 45 minutes, and I’m still alternating my time between treadmill and elliptical. Netflix and Youtube are still getting me through my workouts and making time fly. I have started to incorporate floor exercises again, doing crunches and squats. So far I have been seeing some tightening going on in my stomach and buttock areas, so I feel like these exercises are really helping.
Progress
I’m still seeing more changes in my body and my clothes are starting to get baggy. I find myself feeling more at peace and living life with a better mindset because I have decided to make a change in my life, and stuck with it. Every other time in my life when I decided to start working out, I’ve always given up. I’m glad this time around I’m persevering and sticking with my plan to become a happier, healthier version of myself
With only one week left in my weight loss journey, I hope to focus more on the emotional gratification of this summer experience.
