Janae Poisson out for season

DeKALB — Janae Poisson, women’s basketball sophomore guard, will miss the remainder of the season.

Head Coach Lisa Carlsen said Poisson tore her ACL in the team’s Nov. 18 game against Western Illinois University. Poisson was helped off the court in the second half of the game by a trainer and a teammate after what appeared to be a non-contact injury on the court.

“We are going to be without her for the rest of the year,” Carlsen said. “She did tear her ACL, so we are going to have to find a way for our bench to be productive because, obviously, she was a huge spark for us.”

Poisson was the team’s leading bench scorer this season, averaging 16 points in the two games she played.

The guard was named to the Mid-American Conference’s All-Freshman team last season after averaging 8.4 points and shooting .427 from the field, including .353 on 3-pointers.
