SILD to hold International Women’s Day luncheon

By Northern Star staff

Correction: The Northern Star incorrectly reported that Student Leadership and Development is holding the annual International Women’s Day Luncheon.

It is actually being co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality, Division of International Affairs and Zeta Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta Delta.

Student Involvement and Leadership Development will hold their annual International Women’s Day Luncheon 11:30 a.m. March 8, at the Holmes Student Center, Sky Room, according to a flier.

This year the luncheon will be held in honor of Balinese women.

The event is in honor of international Women’s Day, which is on March 8, said Sarah Lindell, administrative assistant for the Division of International Affairs.

“I think this is actually the first time in a while that we had it on the actual day of International Women’s Day,” Lindell said.

There is a $15 registration fee for the luncheon. The deadline to RSVP for the event is Feb. 26. There will also be a talk only at 12:10 p.m., which is free to attend, Lindell said.

To register for the luncheon contact Sarah Lindell 815-753-9526, [email protected] or go to bit.ly/1KZe9Im.

“We hope to have a good turn out this year,” Lindell said.
