NIU President Doug Baker speaks to the Northern Star Editorial Board on Wednesday. The $388 million budget that was approved Thursday by the Board of Trustees Finance Facilities and Operations committee may be adjusted depending on how much state funding NIU receives at the conclusion of the Illinois budget impasse, according to a Budget Update from Baker.
